The main Kingfisher Lake once held the Norfolk carp record with a fish offorty-seven pounds. The largest fish known to be alive in the water today hasrecently come out at just over forty-one pounds. This does not mean there arenot bigger fish that we are unaware of. There are many fabulous fish in thewater over thirty pounds, some of which have become legendary.

There are some very big fish in Willow Lakethat live pretty well under the radar. A real challenge for the pioneeringangler.

Tench

Description: There are reportsof tench of over eleven pounds coming from Kingfisher Lake.The largest that Fishery Director, John Bailey, has seen weighed was ten poundsfourteen ounces. The largest authenticated tench out of Willow Lakeis nine and a half pounds. There are fish in excess of seven pounds in theLobster Pot even.

Description: Back in the ‘80s, the KingfisherLake was nationallyfamous. Two fish of thirty-nine and a half pounds came out to Dan Leary andRoger Miller – on John Bailey’s rod but that’s another story! John Baileyhimself had a thirty-six pound six ounce pike in 1984 but there were many otherthirties. Today, the complex holds fish of over twenty pounds certainly and perhapslarger.
