Welcome To The Kingfisher Wildlife Diaries – John Bailey
September 7th 2009
Dolts and Stuff
I know this is going to be too juvenile for you but it amused me. I'd got a couple of guests at Kingfishers recently and a stoat ran across our path. One of the guys asked whether the creature we'd seen was actually a stoat or in fact a weasel. My other guest immediately wisecracked back with this ditty I'd never heard before...
"A weasel is weasily recognised. A stoat is stotally different."
There! Just shows what a juvenile sense of human I've got!
We've so enjoyed putting this wildlife diary together over the last few months and do pardon us if work, filming and holidays enforce a short delay over the next two weeks or so. Normal service will be resumed at the end of this month, we promise.
And there's a lot to look forward to as autumn mellows and eventually gives way to winter. Of
course, we have a lot of migratory birds flocking into Norfolk during this period and as the leaves fall off the trees, both birds and mammals become more easily seen.
So remember, if you book up a trip to the Kingfisher apartments in the coming months there will be a real feast of wildlife for you to enjoy.
See you late in the month.
